Legacies – my new family history novel

My new novel, Legacies, was released in September 2019, and is available on Amazon, in both eBook and paperback versions. I am pleased to say that the reviews have been very favourable so far!

Legacies is a multi-timeline novel with the main part of the story set in the 1980s, and historical inset chapters throughout the novel. It follows the main character, Sarah Turvey, an out-of-work actress, who inherits her uncle’s family history research notes and a mysterious old key. With the help of her good friends, and some strange dreams, these items will take her on a journey through her family’s history to try and solve the mystery of the key and where it came from.

But there is danger lurking from an unexpected source, and what starts as an interesting mystery to solve will turn into a desperate race against time to protect not only Sarah’s legacy, but perhaps her very existence.

My idea for this novel started with the desire to write about the destructive nature of prejudice and greed, and the ultimate survival through history of those to whom these are directed

My idea for this novel started with the desire to write about the destructive nature of prejudice and greed, and the ultimate survival through history of those to whom these are directed. I also wanted the novel to have a warm heart, expressing the value and power of true friendship.

Legacies

As with some of my other books, it also carries the theme of family history, following Sarah’s family back through the centuries to reveal the mystery of the key. As a professional genealogist, I love writing about family history, using this as a way of linking the protagonist back to the past in a very personal way.
